DEAN OF STUDENTS – MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL
I. Certification: Valid Indiana Teacher License required
Administrative Classes and/or license preferred
II. Dean of Students will primarily address discipline issues, supervise extra-curricular activities, be responsible for screening and recommending substitute teachers, and any other duty assigned by the supervising principals.
III. Desired Qualifications
- Special training in or strong knowledge of effective administrative strategies in the following areas.
1. Higher level thinking skills.
2. Learning styles.
3. Mastery learning.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and community to achieve educational goals.
- Ability to assume the responsibility of discipline and attendance problems, including the determination and assignment of appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to advise on all matters relating to the operation, direction, and control of the school.
- Available to supervise extra-curricular activities.
- Ability to function as a team member and a team leader
